Is this an abomination?

Dear Australian Bishops
In the news we have an Australian court rewarding a man who dressed as a woman and tried to enter premises reserved to women. We are now in a situation where it seems that cross-dressers want to force the rest of us to legitimise activities the Church (and God) considers to be unacceptable.
So far I have heard no word from any priest or bishop.
Yet the Church teaches that such a person is an abomination. It is hard to think of a greater condemnation.
At the same time, we see women wearing men's clothes. It has occcurred to me that each Sunday Our Divine Lord must look down in horror at thousands of women dressed in trousers distributing the Blessed Sacrament at Mass.
Does the Lord expect that something be done to remedy this situation? If so, who will come forward?
Now I may be wrong here. It may be that I misunderstand the situation. If so, please advise me.
Deuteronomy 22:5
The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all that do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.
